Containerized Vehicle Shipping

United Auto Shipping offers comprehensive international containerized vehicle shipping services, allowing for the safe delivery of vehicles to any number of major ports. Their ocean freight shipping services offer superior savings through consolidation, ensuring the safe delivery of vehicles. They excel at each step of the process, including consolidation, loading, transporting, and unloading any form of vehicle, whether they are run-and-drive, normal, or oversized. Container shipping is a great way to deliver vehicles for a lower price, with options for loading container size (20 or 40 feet) and FCL (full container load) or LCL (less than container load). Customers can choose between a 20-ft or 40-ft container, with the latter being the most popular due to the cost distribution among vehicles.

Roll-on/roll-off Vehicle Shipping

RORO is by far the easiest and lowest cost option for car shipping or transporting any vehicle. The vehicles are simply driven straight onto the RORO ship and securely blocked, braced, and tied down inside the ship where it is wind and watertight, to ensure complete security. RORO vessels can transport all types of motorised cargo including cars, lorries, boats, buses, motorbikes, motorhomes, agricultural vehicles, construction vehicles and other types of heavy machinery. Its name comes from the ability to roll cargo onto the ship at the port of origin and then simply roll it off again when it reaches its destination. The option to ship without needing to consider packing and its related costs makes RORO shipping the lower cost option.

Factors that affect the cost of Auto Transport

route

Route

The cost of vehicle shipping is significantly affected by the chosen route. Longer distances or routes with multiple stops may incur higher costs. Additionally, some routes may be more expensive due to customs fees or geographical restrictions. Vehicle size also plays a role; larger vehicles will cost more to ship.

Mode of Shipment

The mode of shipment plays a crucial role in determining the final cost of vehicle shipping. Containerized shipping offers greater security but at a higher cost, while Roll-on/Roll-off (RORO) shipping is less expensive and faster. The condition of the vehicle also influences the cost; functioning cars are more affordable to ship than non-functioning ones.

Shipping Type

The type of shipping also affects the cost. Open shipping is the most economical option but offers less protection, whereas enclosed shipping provides greater vehicle protection but comes at a higher cost. Insurance coverage and seasonal demand (such as summer) can further increase the total price.
